The two men seated in the upper right corner of this photo, Jim Spano, left, and Roger Toler, created a sand sculpture yesterday on Waikiki Beach in front of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. It took them about three hours to complete.




ROCK BLAMED IN PUNALUU AUTO MISHAP

A Kaneohe-bound vehicle hit a rock before doing a 180-degree spinout and striking a telephone pole along Kamehameha Highway in Punaluu yesterday, according to Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Kenison Tejada. No one was seriously injured, Tejada said, but traffic through the area was slowed.
