Workers from a trucking company, Verizon, Hawaiian Electric Co. and Oceanic Cable checked out the situation yesterday at a downed utility pole at Kahu and Kahuanani street in Waipahu after a truck apparently rolled away while parked and took out the pole. Lines were not grounded, which presented a danger. About 1,200 Hawaiian Electric customers in Waipahu and Pearl City were without power for about three hours.
