At the Hale Aloha dorms, the homecoming celebration started with the students gathering, listening to a band and speakers.

The three-masted ship Cuauhtemoc arrived Thursday in Honolulu and will be in port for a total of five days before sailing to San Francisco, then returning in November to its home port of Acapulco, Mexico. Juan Carlos Abarca Bailon, one of its crew members, held a corner of a tarp aboard the ship Thursday as it began to rain.
