An Episcopal nun will speak here next week about her experiences at St. Paul's Chapel, a mission across from the World Trade Center which became a respite center for emergency workers after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack.

Sister Grace Gallant, a member of Society of St. Margaret in Boston, was assigned to the Manhattan mission just before the attack and remained to work there for six months. "She found herself in the middle of a ministry of radical hospitality that she could never have imagined," said the Rev. Liz Zivanov, rector of St. Clement's Episcopal Church.

Gallant's appearances, which are open to the public, are on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew's Cathedral and on Friday at 7 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church in Kaneohe.

St. Clement's Church in Makiki will host a potluck picnic at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 for Gallant and Sister Ann Whittaker, who will speak about religious vocations at several churches and schools.
