BIG ISLAND KEEPS ON GROWING

COURTESY U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY Lava flowed to the ocean early yesterday morning, crossing 160 feet of new "bench," or seaside lava deposits, before hitting the ocean and creating glowing steam. The site is a relatively new ocean entry called Middle Highcastle on the coast of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
