Lava flowed to the ocean early yesterday morning, crossing 160 feet of new "bench," or seaside lava deposits, before hitting the ocean and creating glowing steam. The site is a relatively new ocean entry called Middle Highcastle on the coast of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
