Silverswords stay
in first place

Kahala Kabalis finished with 16 kills and 18 digs as the Chaminade volleyball team swept Western New Mexico 35-33, 30-28, 30-16 at McCabe Gym last night.

Valasi Sepulona helped out with 15 kills for the Silverswords (8-1, 2-0 Pacific West Conference). Kimberly Tano led the Mustangs (8-4, 0-3) with 10 kills.

HPU 3, MSUB 1: At St. Andrew's Priory, Susy Garbelotti hit .413 and pounded down 25 kills as Hawaii Pacific beat Montana State-Billings 30-19, 30-25, 24-30, 30-17 last night.

Olivia Munro led the Yellow Jackets in kills with 19.

The win ties HPU (7-3, 2-0 PacWest) with Chaminade for the conference lead while MSUB (4-8, 0-3) drops into a tie for last with Western New Mexico.
