What qualifies you to be a state representative?

The only practicing health professional in the Legislature, I am able to provide valuable input related to our second largest industry, health care. My experience in the private sector as a manager is a valuable skill, which I have put to use in my present position of majority floor leader.

What is the most pressing issue facing your district and what would you do about it?

Development and its effect on the quality of life such as school facilities, traffic and the environment are foremost. I will work with the community, the developers, the neighborhood boards and others to achieve a balance by which we can create a plan for sustainable development of our town.

What is the best way to stimulate the state's economy?

I agree with Brian Dabson of the Corporation for Enterprise Development that "every state needs an entrepreneurial strategy that will demonstrate that entrepreneurs are valued as engines of local economies." This would involve an approach that emphasizes more training and an increased awareness of entrepreneurism. ...
