What makes you qualified to be a City Council member?

Years of experience in state and local government.

What is the greatest problem facing Honolulu and what would you do about it?

Quality of life. This involves everything surrounding us -- family, environment, career employment, education of our children, economy, adequate health care, and safe neighborhoods.

Do you support Mayor Jeremy Harris' vision team program? Why or why not? How would you improve it?

I support the grassroots visioning team process; but am concerned with the funding of the programs. I also feel that between the neighborhood boards and the vision teams there is a certain amount of duplication. Therefore, I would be in favor of combining the neighborhood board and the vision team-prioritized projects. ...

What makes you qualified to be a City Council member?

To reform government, we must stop electing persons who are owned, bought off and stuffed like a pig by special interest groups, lobbyists and PACs; I am the only candidate who does not take money from them; I am only owned by the people.

What is the greatest problem facing Honolulu and what would you do about it?

Crime; we have the highest property crime rate in the nation. We also have the highest drug rate (smoked ice) in the nation. We need to hire more police for the streets -- not just for Waikiki, but for "our" neighborhoods. It is time for the victims of crime to have more rights than the criminals.

Do you support Mayor Jeremy Harris' vision team program? Why or why not? How would you improve it?

1) We need to create more "overnight parking" spaces. 2) We need to pass a bond to create a world class complete recycling center. 3) We need to create a "Home for every citizen" program where we set aside county land for home sites. The county will provide home loans to those who have a job. ...
