Notary public
filing process changes

Star-Bulletin staff

Notary publics must submit records and completed notary books to the Department of the Attorney General rather than to circuit court clerks.

Notaries can order copies of pages from filed books from the Department of the Attorney General, Notary Office, 425 Queen St., Honolulu, HI 96813; or call 586-1218.

The Legal Documents branch of each circuit court is still responsible for the original notary bonds, signature cards and certifying the notary's signature. For more information, call:

>> First Circuit (Oahu): 539-4300.
>> Second Circuit (Maui): 244-2969.
>> Third Circuit (Hawaii): 961-7400.
>> Fifth Circuit (Kauai): 246-3300.
