Vikings cut
Iolani alumnus

The Minnesota Vikings cut guard Ed Ta'umu, a fourth-round draft choice, yesterday.

Ta'umu is a former Iolani School and Utah standout who went as high as second-team on the Vikings' depth chart before being released.

The 6-foot-1, 335-pound Ta'umu was cut to make room for former Dallas place-kicker Tim Seder, who was claimed off waivers.

Ta'umu was the taken 132nd overall in the draft.

The Vikings brass expected him to push for a reserve role at both guard positions.
