The Honolulu Medical Examiner has identified the victim in Wednesday's fatal shooting near Waipahu High School as 30-year-old Hayward E. Julio.

His last known address was the Victory Ohana residential drug treatment facility in Iwilei.

State officials were in the process of kicking Julio out of the program for leaving the structured-living facility earlier in the day, said Tommy Johnson, Hawaii Paroling Authority Administrator.

Julio was paroled from Halawa Correctional Facility on Aug. 8, 2000, where he was serving time for abuse of a household member and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
He was taken into custody for violating parole but released to attend drug treatment in March, Johnson said.

Julio died of multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner said. Police said he was shot in his head, chest and back as he sat in a parked rental car on Waipio Point Access Road.

Police are looking for two women who fled in a gray or greenish-gray late-model Pontiac Grand Am. The car was last seen traveling toward Pearl City on Farrington Highway between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m.
