Kaila Mercado, Stuart Ooka and Vanshj Seth arrived by limo at Pearlridge Center yesterday. They won a shopping spree from the public library system young adult summer reading sweepstakes. Kaila, from Christian Academy on Kauai, won the grand prize of $1,000 to spend.

The annual Bayfest, featuring live music, rides, games and various exhibits, kicked off yesterday at the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base. Marnie Meyer looked on as her children rode the Spin Out. The event continues through tomorrow.
