Bread pudding is chocolatey

"The Electric Kitchen" airing in August features chef Sky Ogata of Big City Diner with "Sandwich, Salads and Sides."

"Electric Kitchen" airs at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, 8 p.m. Monday, 5 p.m. Tuesday and 6 p.m. Thursday on Oceanic Cable Channel 16.

Chocolate Bread Pudding

4 cups heavy cream
5 cups milk
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla
3 tablespoons rum (optional)
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 pounds day-old bread, torn in 1-inch pieces
10 eggs
7 cups sem-isweet chocolate pieces, melted
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Preheat electric to 300 degrees. Spray a 25-by-13-by-2-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.

Combine cream, milk, sugar, vanilla, rum, salt and cinnamon; mix well. Pour over bread and let soak.

Combine eggs and melted chocolate; mix well. Stir into bread mixture. Fold in chocolate pieces. Pour into prepared pan. Place in pan of hot water in oven. Bake 30 to 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in center of the pudding comes out clean. Cool before serving. Serves 32.
