YES, THEY DID IT AGAIN! Vergel Jepas, left, Tanner Henderson, Eddy Gudoy and Devon Nekoba point out their approval of Kaitlyn Metcalf's abbreviated attire at the closing-night cast party for "Once Upon One Kapakahi Time" Sunday. Kaitlyn's dad donated another box of party hats, and the cast celebrated the show's success way past midnight. Derek Palmore is behind Gudoy; Megan Mount and Diana Mills got close to Nekoba.
PRINCESS AND PRINCE: Fran Gendrano (Princess Lokelani) snuggled up to Kala'i Stern (Prince Charming) as "Kapakahi" cast members took to the mic. Dwayne Fujitani (King Lolo), Mark Ikenaga (Myra Mongoose), Lisa Matsumoto and Roslyn were among the many other late-night singers.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUSTIN! Makena Maduli and Justin celebrated his 24th birthday at Gordon Biersch on Sunday. The party was hosted by Makena's dad, record producer/promoter Kata Maduli, and Lea Uehara of Tropical Music. It included two sets by Justin and his recording partner, Jon Yamasato, who also sat in with 'Ale'a. The Ka'ala Boys added an impressive rendition of "Alika" to the celebration. Justin will return to UCLA this fall. A Hawaiian album may be next.
