Salud to fight here
in exhibition bout


The Hawaii State Boxing Commission approved three bouts plus an exhibition, set for Aug. 20 at the Blaisdell Arena.

Gerry Penalosa meets Seiji Tanaka in a WBC International Junior Bantam title fight to start the evening off, followed by Rey Pelonia and Teddy Limoz, who will battle for the WBO Asia-Pacific Welterweight title. The third fight is a non-title bout between Juanito Rubillar and Takayuki Korogi.

Jesus Salud concludes the fight card with a three-round exhibition against Manny Pacquiao.

Jobe and Lum-Tucker stay alive in doubles

Ikaika Jobe and Brad Lum-Tucker defeated top-seeded Ryan Ideta and Erik Sandblom 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the semifinals of the Kailua Racquet Club Men's Night Doubles.

Jobe and Lum-Tucker play No. 4 seed Andrew Csordas and Chris Leong, who beat No. 6 seed David Lam and David Ma 7-6 (2), 6-4.

No. 2 Stefan Pampulov and Jan Tribler fell to No. 5 Jan Krejci and Wei-Yu Su 6-3, 6-4, and Brendon Curry and Erik Vervloet beat Michael Bruggeman and Erich Chen 6-3, 1-6, 6-1.
