Disney Channel's "Even Stevens" comedy series will film a movie of the week for four days on Oahu next month.

"The Stevens Get Even" will film here Aug. 16 to 20, bringing stars Shia La Beouf, Christy Carlson Romano, Nick Spano, Tom Virtueen and Donna Pescow. The TV movie is slated to air in August 2003.

The television show is about an upper-middle-class family in Sacramento, Calif., with the focus on the family's two achievers, and Ren, the seemingly perfect daughter who is regularly driven to distraction by her younger brother. The popular family comedy is a part of the Disney Channel's "Zoog Weekendz" lineup.

The TV movie begins in Los Angeles -- with filming at the old "Baywatch" studio -- with the family learning they've won a trip to an exclusive, unknown island. Once there, they become part of a reality TV series that's "Candid Camera" meets "Fear Factor." The family members are pitted against one another and forced to vote each other out.

"The Stevens Get Even" is filming only in Los Angeles and Hawaii, which edged out Australia. Filming locations here are still being scouted.

Executive producer Sean McNamara is directing. The other executive producers are David Brookwell, Marc Warren and Dennis Rinsler.

According to production company Brookwell-McNamara Entertainment, the show ended production after 65 episodes, as is Disney's usual policy. The first 30-minute show aired in June 2000.

"Even Stevens" airs at 5:30 p.m. Fridays and 1 p.m. Saturdays on Disney. For those who don't receive Disney, you can watch the show at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays on ABC.

In other production news, ABC Television will film an episode of the sitcom "My Wife and Kids," starring Damon Wayans and Tisha Campbell-Martin, on Oahu. Filming is set for Aug. 5 to 19.

Wayans plays Michael Kyle, whose life is spinning out of control now that his high school sweetheart wife (Tisha Campbell-Martin) has made the transition from devoted, stay-at-home mother of three to a stock-market trailblazer.

His son listens to gangster rap, his teenage daughter is always asking for money, and his baby girl speaks Spanish and is being raised by the family maid, who can't stand Michael.

The Hawaii show will be the sitcom's third-season opener.
