Forest hikes, stream investigations, nature crafts, weather experiments, cultural activities and off-site field trips are all part of the Hawaii Nature Center's 2002 Summer Nature Adventure Program.

Geared toward children ages 5 to 8, Session I will run July 29 through Aug. 2. Hours for the regular program are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the fee is $175. The extended program goes from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; cost is $300.

Session II, aimed at kids 8 to 10, is set for Aug. 5 through 9. Hours and prices are the same as Session II. An optional overnight campout costs $50, including a campfire, night hike, astronomy program and Saturday morning breakfast. Participants will be ready to head home at 9:30 a.m.

Call the Hawaii Nature Center for a registration form. Enrollment is limited; as of press time, SNAP I was almost full, but there was plenty of room open in SNAP II.
