Yesterday was filled with treats -- parades, fireworks and shave ice from Waiola Shave Ice in Moiliili. Keoni Williams, 9, carried servings for himself and his mother, Akinina Williams.

Students in the Kamalii Ed-ventures ocean studies class at Epiphany School watched Wednesday as Tsugi Morishige made a throw net at Ala Moana Beach Park. Morishige and several other regulars make and fix nets and enjoy each other's company.
