The Buddha Light International Association of Hawaii blessed dragon boats Saturday on the beach fronting the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The carved boats from Kaohsiung Taiwan will be used in the Seventh Annual AT&T Hawaii Dragon Boat Festival races to be held Aug. 3-4. Fireworks created the illusion of smoke billowing from the dragon's mouth, and after the blessing a Chinese lion dance was performed.
