Famous Amos kicks off summer publishing course

Wally "Famous" Amos will lead the list of presenters as the Hawaii Book Publishers Association presents its annual one-day course "How to Get Published in Hawaii" from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22 at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Amos will discuss his latest book, "The Cookie Never Crumbles: Inspirational Recipes for Everyday Living," and his experiences in dealing with publishers over the years.

The popular course will also feature industry professionals from Hawaii who will discuss the vital aspects of getting published, including how to submit a manuscript and find a publisher, get a publishing contract, work with a designer, and market and distribute. An authors panel will cap the course. There will be plenty of time for questions and interaction during the day.

The cost for the class is $75.
