At a charity football game yesterday between members of New York City's Police and Fire departments in East Rutherford, N.J., Laie teen Catalina Markowitz, left, presented a fresh lei to Rhiannon O'Callaghan, who lost her firefighter father, Daniel, on Sept. 11 in World Trade Center rescue efforts. The lei were arranged by the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau after officials became aware that Markowitz's father, Barry, was invited to the game in recognition of a football game in Hawaii that he and Father John Fredericks set up to help firefighter widows and orphans. Rhiannon and her mother, Rhonda, were on hand for a ceremony in which families were presented with lost players' jerseys, framed and bearing plaques with the words, "Forever a hero on our team."
