A service at Bishop Memorial Church on the Kamehameha Schools campus yesterday honored mothers. After she spoke to the assembly about motherhood, Kamehameha teacher and mother Lilinoe Ka'ahanui, left, hugged her son, Nainoa Ka'ahanui. Lilinoe's mom, Marilyn McKeown, right, also was honored during the service.

Families used brunch at the Hilton Hawaiian Village yesterday to create their own special moments. Among them were grandmother Gloria Gier and granddaughter Anolani Hoopili, who shared a kiss as grandson Lukela Hoopili sat in her lap.
