3-Plus serves a simple stroganoff


Dishes prepared by the members of 3-Plus, Tanoa Kapana, Marcus Malepeai and Karl Zinsman, on "Hawaii's Kitchen" this week. The show airs at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on KHON/Fox.

Tri-Tip Stroganoff

1/2 small onion, diced

Garlic, to taste

1/4 cup butter

1 pound tri-tip steak, sliced

Salt and pepper, to taste

7 fresh mushrooms

2 cans cream of chicken soup

1 pint sour cream

1 package large egg noodles, cooked

Cook onions and garlic in butter until onions are clear. Add steak, salt and pepper. Brown steak. Add mushrooms and cook well. Add soup and bring to a boil. Add water thin soup, then sour cream. Stir well and simmer 10 minutes. Serve over noodles.

Creamy Shoyu 'For You' Chicken

1 cup soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 piece ginger root, chopped
8 to 12 chicken thighs, boneless
2 cans cream of mushroom soup

Combine soy sauce and brown sugar in a pot and cook until sugar dissolves. Add ginger, chicken and soup. Cook 45 minutes to an hour over low to medium heat.
