The Mother Earth Foundation hosted a tree-planting ceremony yesterday morning on the Royal School campus to honor Sept. 11 victim Chris Snyder. Roger Kuwahara,left, Royal School PTA member Brian Henry, in striped shirt, and PTA President Stan Oka, in white cap, helped to place the new hibiscus tree. Snyder was active in assisting Royal School and, one week before her death, had recommended a tree be planted to replace one taken to construct a new playground.

Iolani School held its "Wild Wild West" family fair yesterday on the school grounds. Along the midway, from left, Boram Chong, Scott Kim and Jen Lee had just had pictures taken with their cute hats. The fair, which continues today from noon to 11 p.m., also features food booths, a fresh produce market and a book bazaar.
