Lee’s overtime basket
gives McKinley a win


Amber Lee scored with five seconds left in overtime to lift McKinley to a 48-47 home win over Farrington in an Oahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division girls basketball game last night.

Lee scored all of her game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Lee scored 10 of the Tigers' 16 fourth-quarter points as McKinley erased a 33-25 deficit. She went on to provide all of McKinley's points in overtime.

Laosamoa Uli led Farrington with 12 points.

Kalani 51, Roosevelt 47: The Falcons survived a 3-point barrage by the Rough Riders to escape with a home win.

Roosevelt hit seven 3-pointers, but it wasn't enough to overcome a 20-point performance by Kalani's Ashley Takata. Tamari Miyashiro added 13 points.

Ashlie Dutro and Chelsie Kadota led Roosevelt with 10 points apiece.

Kaimuki 45, Kailua 44: The Bulldogs overcame a 25-17 halftime deficit to defeat the Surfriders.

Kailua had a chance to tie the game with six seconds left. Ana Fisilau made a free throw to cut the Kaimuki lead to one. She missed the second and Kaimuki's Flora Mesa blocked the putback as time expired.

Dalia Solia led Kaimuki with 20 points. Fisilau finished with 17 for Kailua.

Aiea 27, Waialua 24: The Bulldogs took the defending state champions to the wire but couldn't pull off the upset against Na Alii.

Waialua's Glenelle Matas led all scorers with 13 points as the Bulldogs played Aiea even through three quarters. Aiea took the lead late in the game and Waialua's final shot fell short with four seconds left.
