New Web site offers
info on end-of-life care

Star-Bulletin staff

Hawaii residents may now obtain free end-of-life-care information and store advance health-care directives at a special Web site to make them available to physicians and hospitals.

The Executive Office on Aging's Kokua Mau project is collaborating with HealthDirective Partners LLC on the project.

The Web site can be found at www.MyHealthDirective.com.

It is intended to encourage communication about end-of-life decisions and help people discuss them with family members and doctors.

The site includes information, a resource directory and Ask a Doctor and Ask an Attorney sections.

Integrated Services Inc., a subsidiary of the Hawaii Medical Service Association, owns MyHealthDirective.com, and it is licensed exclusively in Hawaii to Healthcare Directive Partners LLC.

Healthcare Directive Partners is working with Kokua Mau to promote use of the Web site and educate the community about advance health-care directives and other end-of-life decisions.

Kokua Mau is a statewide coalition of organizations, community leaders and policy-makers concerned about improving end-of-life care.

For more information on Kokua Mau, see www.kokua-mau.org, or call 585-9977 or 800-474-2113.

To join the coalition, call 586-0100.

Healthcare Directive Partners LLC can be reached at 587-4781, by fax at 587-4787 or by e-mail at webmaster@myhealthdirective.com.
