As the Star-Bulletin celebrates its first year of independence, we thank our readers for their support. And what a year it was!

Teachers strike. Macy's moves in. Terrorists attack. University of Hawaii athletes excel. The past year was a tumultuous one and the Star-Bulletin, with a new lease on life, was here to cover it all. Not only did we report the news, we made substantial contributions to the community. We also started a far-reaching Newspaper In Education program to reach students and to provide them with journalistic experiences. As we mark the first anniversary of our Sunday edition today, we thank you for your support and pledge to continue our efforts to be a better newspaper. Mahalo.
