Isle home manufacturer goes public on Pink Sheets

Hawaiian Palisade Homes Inc., a Hawaii-based pre-fabricated home manufacturer, has become a publicly traded company on the Pink Sheets.

The company merged into International Artifacts Inc., which was then renamed to Hawaiian Palisade, a process known as a reverse merger. Its ticker symbol is HIPH.

The company's stock closed up 86.5 cents to $1.88 today.

At its Kapolei factory, Hawaiian Palisade produces affordable homes ranging from 500 square feet to more than 2,900 square feet.

In its initial three months of marketing, the company said it has signed contracts for about 175 homes.

The company was recently approved for rural development loans under the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program and is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for manufactured homes.

Hawaii County mails new property tax notices

Hawaii County's Real Property Tax Division has mailed homeowners corrected real property tax assessment notices for the July 1, 2002, to June 30, 2003, fiscal year.
