Boys

>> Timothy Flowers, Leilehua track and field: Was named the outstanding male athlete at the George Yamamoto Invitational at Mililani. Flowers won the long jump and 100-meter dash. He also ran on the Mules' victorious 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.

Girls

>> Jennifer Tanchaleun, Aiea track and field: Won the long jump, triple jump, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash at the John E. Velasco Invitational at Radford.



Honor Roll

BASKETBALL

>> Tyleen Tausaga, Kaimuki: Scored 23 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 57-54 win over Kalani in their OIA East opener.
>> Dalia Solia, Kaimuki: Scored 21 points in the win over Kalani and added 23 in a 67-54 loss to Kalaheo.
>> Missy Cordero, Radford: Drained six 3-point shots and finished with 20 points in the Rams' 47-43 loss to Leilehua.
>> Lehua Yap, Nanakuli: Hit four 3-pointers en route to a 20-point performance in a 46-38 win over Waialua.
>> Shantel Tilton, Castle: Scored 22 points and made the winning free throws with six seconds left in the Knights' 46-45 win over Kailua.
>> Tiare Holbron, Waianae: Hit for 21 points in the Seariders' 52-39 loss to Leilehua.
>> Brittney Aiwohi, Sacred Hearts: Scored 21 points and hit the winning free throw in a 40-39 win over Mid-Pacific.
>> Diane Okubo, University: Scored 38 points in two games last week. She had 18 in a 42-35 win over St. Francis and hit for 20 in a 43-40 loss to Iolani.

BASEBALL

>> Kahe Santos, Kamehameha: Hit a homer and drove in three runs in an 8-0 win over Iolani. He hit another homer in an 8-3 loss to Mid-Pacific.
>> Riley Maeda, Maryknoll: Pitched a complete-game, two-hitter in a 9-0 win over Damien.
>> Kaohi Downing, Punahou: Went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs in the Buffanblu's 30-5 win over Maryknoll.
>> Kyle Seminara, Punahou: Hit a double and a triple and drove in four runs against Maryknoll.
>> Jowen Murray-Thornton, St. Louis: Hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs in the Crusaders' 24-5 win over Maryknoll.
>> Shane Butcher, St. Louis: Went 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs against Maryknoll.

GOLF

>> Chris Souza, Kamehameha: Shot a 2-under-par 70 to win last week's Interscholastic League of Honolulu tournament at Leilehua Golf Course. His round helped the Warriors win the team competition with a total of 290.
>> Earl Medeiros, Waianae: Carded a 1-under-par 70 at the Makaha Valley Golf Course to win last week's Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division tournament.

TRACK AND FIELD

>> Kari Tanimoto, Pearl City: Was named co-outstanding female athlete at the George Yamamoto Invitational. She won the 1,600-meter run and helped the Chargers win the 4x800 relay.
>> Mei Li Nickles, Mililani: Shared outstanding female athlete honors with Tanimoto by running on the Trojans' victorious 720-meter shuttle hurdles, 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. She also finished second in the 100-meter dash and triple jump.
>> Talavou Avegalio, Kahuku: Won the shot put at the Velasco Invitational with a toss of 54 feet, 2 inches. He also won the discus with a throw of 157 feet, 5 inches.

>> Iolani Prep Classic champion Fairfax (Los Angeles) closed its season with a 30-5 record and finished 34th in the Student Sports Fab 50 boys basketball rankings.
