Overcast and wet conditions in Central Oahu put a bit of a damper on spring break fun yesterday at the new Mililani Skate Park at Mililani District Park. Skateboarder Reno Gella, his image reflected in the standing water, was one of a handful of kids waiting for the ramp to dry out.

Lanakila Kalima leapt off The Wall yesterday in Waikiki to join other surfers in a late-afternoon session. A small off-season swell was breaking along southern shores during a gray day on Oahu, perfectly timed for those on spring break. Heavy rains that drenched Kauai and Niihau over the last two days are expected to dissipate after today, according to the National Weather Service in Honolulu. But heavy rains may return for the islands Thursday night and continue through Saturday.
