Maintenance worker

Glenn Balboa says variety
keeps his work interesting

GLENN BALBOA >> I'm one of the guys who do routine maintenance on this big apartment building. There's always something to do, and it's always something different.

Right now I'm repairing this sculpture in front of the building. I'm adding cement, patching where the old cement fell off. The inside is made of clay and moisture makes the cement crack. Things just wear out, and we try to keep up. We keep busy.

We also do housekeeping and groundskeeping, keeping the place neat and clean. One of the best things about this job is that most of the time I get to work indoors.
