Evening of Enchantment: Can you eat your way through 2 feet of chocolate? Test yourself by bidding on chocolate sculptures created by Kapiolani Community College culinary students. Pieces will be auctioned off at Kahala Mall from 6 to 9 p.m. today. Place a bid and win a hunk of chocolate for your valentine. Proceeds benefit HUGS, a nonprofit group that helps families with terminally ill children. Call 732-7736.

Matters of Taste: Live jazz provides the background for a Valentine's Day wine tasting, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Gentry Pacific Design Center on Nimitz Highway. Cost is $10. Call 538-0597.

A Taste of Puna: Amateur chefs are challenged to show off the produce of Puna in a cook-off, 10 a.m. Saturday at Sure Save Supermarket in the Keaau Shopping Center. Contestants score more points for using more Puna products in their dishes or their presentations. For example, a dish using papaya, macadamia nuts, rambutan or oranges might be garnished with Puna-grown flowers to earn extra points. Deadline to enter is tomorrow. Call Mark Nakamura, 959-8678. Local Style Scholarship Brunch: Leeward Community College culinary students will be serving up brunch, 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday in the school cafeteria. The menu includes omelets, hot cakes, fried rice and a range of breakfast meats, breads and fruits, as well as salads and chicken stir-fry. Cost is $10 in advance; $12 at the door. Children are $5. Joy of Food and Wine: Grand Wine Tasting features 250 wines with an emphasis on Australian vintages, plus Australian foods, wine seminars and live auction, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sheraton-Waikiki. Tickets are $55 in advance, $65 at the door. Call: 544-3385
