Let’s send them all
to their rooms

Politicians sometimes wonder why the voters and taxpayers hold them in such disdain. Here's a reason:

Last Thursday, just before the Republican Party's Lincoln Day dinner, the Democratic majority in the Legislature's House called a night session to coincide with the GOP's gathering. Rep. Charles Djou, the minority floor leader, accused the Democrats of "playing games." He asserted: "Their parliamentary tactics are just completely petty."

Rep. Marcus Oshiro, the majority leader, denied that scheduling the late session had anything to do with the GOP fund-raiser.

"It never crossed my mind," he claimed. "They can go to their dinner. They have to make the choice -- stay at the Capitol and work, or go out and have dinner."

Come on, children, stop the bickering and play nicely in your sandbox.
