Queen Kaahumanu School's English for a Second Language Learners program hosted "Culture Day 2002 -- A Celebration of Cultures" yesterday on school grounds. Karen Kainuma, left, and Ok Kyong Yoon showed Korean ceremonial rice cakes at the Korean display. Also presented were displays on Samoan, Japanese, Vietnamese, Laotian, Filipino, Marshallese, Micronesian and Chinese cultures.

Cars plowed through a good-size puddle along Kailua Road yesterday morning. Heavy rain created patches of standing water along many low-lying areas of Oahu.
