Honolulu police believe Edward Fuller had already been shot twice and was running away from someone along Jack Lane in Nuuanu Saturday when he was shot in the back, then twice more in the head, said Lt. Bill Kato, Homicide Detail.

The Honolulu medical examiner identified Fuller, 40, whose last known address was in Ewa Beach. Kato said the killing may have been drug related.

Police are looking for anyone who may have information on who Fuller went to meet at Jack Lane or what he did in the 24 hours before his death.

A retired police officer who was in his car at the corner of Pali Highway and Jack Lane told detectives he saw a man run from a car parked in the driveway of Temple Emanu-El at 2550 Pali Highway onto Jack Lane about the time of the shooting.

The man was wearing light colored clothing.

Kato said that man may have been Fuller's pursuer.

Fuller was wearing dark clothing.

Police found shell casings scattered down Jack Lane.

Police believe Fuller was killed between 10:45 and 10:50 p.m. That is when an officer investigating another case on Pali Highway heard multiple gunshots.

A resident of Jack Lane told police he went home about 10:40 p.m. and when he left 10 minutes later, found Fuller's body on the roadway.
