From left, Marsha Ahuna, Betty and Paul Honzik, and Margaret Jaquette participated yesterday in the Hawaii Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary Ocean Count at Diamond Head Lookout. This year's count results appear to confirm studies that show Hawaii's humpback population has been increasing at an annual rate of 7 percent for the last 10 years.
