Carolyn Adelaide Allen, 94, of Kula, Maui, died Dec. 25 at home. She was born in Massachusetts. She is survived by sons Scott and Randolf, brother Fred Surman and three grandchildren. Services to be held in Los Angeles.

Theodore Charles "Ted" Buettner, 58, of Honolulu, an AFLAC and Lone Star insurance agent, died Dec. 28 in Tripler Army Medical Center. He was born in Hackensack, N.J. He is survived by daughter Devorah "Debbie" and four grandchildren. Services: 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Adelaide "Dee" Campbell Cain, 84, of Hawaiian Ocean View Estates, Hawaii, a retired federal government executive secretary and U.S. Army veteran, died Dec. 19 in Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Norfolk, Va. She is survived by companion James H. Smith. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Naalehu Community Cemetery.

Gertrude Lai Chong, 94, of Hawi, Hawaii, a retired cafeteria manager at Kohala High School, died Dec. 19 in Straub Clinic and Hospital. She was born in North Kohala, Hawaii. She is survived by daughter Patricia, son Norman, sister Fanny Lee and two grandchildren. Services: 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Central Union Church. George Lamont Naipolani Furtado, 58, of Ewa Beach, a retired U.S. Army master sergeant and Department of Public Works maintenance mechanic at Schofield Barracks, died Dec. 31. He was born in Kekaha, Kauai. He is survived by wife Patricia, sons Lionel and Lamont, daughters Lee-Ann Furtado-Smith and LaVonne Furtado, brothers Ezra and Vincent, sister Odetta Naka'ahiki and five grandchildren. Juan Tabbada Guimmayen, 92, of Honolulu, died Dec. 16. He was born in the Philippines.
