Pittsburgh running back Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala rushed for 74 yards on 12 carries after starter Jerome Bettis was taken out of yesterday's 21-16 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Fuamatu-Ma'afala (St. Louis School/University of Utah) helped seal the victory with a 46-yard burst late in the game.

Bettis aggravated a sore hip and groin. He's concerned about the injury and doesn't know if he'll be ready to play next week against the New York Jets.

Kimo von Oelhoffen, Steelers: The starting defensive end (Molokai High School/Boise State) made two solo tackles in Pittsburgh's win over Minnesota.

Jeff Ulbrich, 49ers: The starting linebacker (Hawaii)made four tackles, including two solos, in San Francisco's 35-0 victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Olin Kreutz, Bears: The starting center (St. Louis School/University of Washington) and his teammates on the offensive didn't allow a sack on quarterback Jim Miller in Chicago's 13-10 win over the Detroit Lions. The line also made room for James Allen to rush for 93 yards on 25 carries.

Kynan Forney, Falcons: The guard (University of Hawaii) got his second straight start, but the Falcons lost to the St. Louis Rams 35-6. The Atlanta offensive line gave up three sacks, but it also gave starting quarterback Chris Chandler time to complete 14-of-18 passes.

Jason Elam, Broncos: The place-kicker (Hawaii) made a 45-yard field goal and one extra point, but the Broncos were upended 21-10 by the Miami Dolphins.

Chris Naeole, Saints: The starting guard (Kahuku High School/University of Colorado) and his offensive linemates helped Ricky Williams gain 102 yards on 27 carries and Aaron Brooks to pass for 330 yards and three touchdowns in New Orleans' 27-23 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Mario Fatafehi, Cardinals: The defensive lineman (Farrington High School/Kansas State), who started for the first time last week against San Diego, is out with a hand injury he suffered against the Chargers, and a return date isn't known yet.

Others: Tight end Itula Mili (Kahuku High School/ Brigham Young) of the Seattle Seahawks and backup center Dominic Raiola (St. Louis School/University of Nebraska) were used sparingly in games yesterday, while tackle Adrian Klemm (Hawaii) of the New England Patriots and defensive lineman Ma'a Tanuvasa (Mililani High School/Hawaii) of the San Diego Chargers are on injured reserve.

In addition, Kaulana Noa (Honokaa High School/Hawaii) of the St. Louis Rams is on the inactive list.
