Walks, talks among World
AIDS Day isle events Saturday

Hawaii and communities around the globe will observe World AIDS Day on Saturday. Several events will be held across the state.

This year's theme, "I Care ... Do You?" focuses on awareness of the risk of the disease among men, women and youth, regardless of age, race or sexual orientation.

The day is meant to bring messages of compassion, hope, solidarity and understanding about HIV and AIDS.

OAHU

>> Today, 10:45 a.m., First Christian Church AIDS Awareness & Healing Service, First Christian Church.

>> Tomorrow through Thursday, noon, HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Program of Kapiolani Community College -- Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt Display, KCC library.

>> Tomorrow through Friday, Kapiolani Community College World AIDS Day Exhibit, KCC library.

>> Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., KCC World AIDS Day Event, KCC cafeteria & Kapiko Building.

>> Friday, Capitol Walk-Around, 9 a.m.-noon, Capitol.

>> Friday, Honolulu Hale Walk-Around, 1-3 p.m., Honolulu Hale.

WEST HAWAII

>> Saturday, West Hawaii AIDS Foundation World AIDS Day Memorial Gathering, 5 p.m., The Lagoon.

>> Saturday, 6-8:30 p.m., West Hawaii AIDS Foundation third annual Taste of Life Fund-raiser and World AIDS Day Activity, Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort, $40 cost.

KAUAI

>> Tomorrow through Friday, Malama Pono -- Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt Display, Kauai Community College Library.
