A man suspected of fatally shooting his friend in the back Sunday is also accused of firing shots at a group of men four days earlier.

Both incidents occurred within a mile of the man's Waipio home, police said.

Police have charged Ryan Naleimaile, 25, of a Mopua Loop address, with a firearm violation in the shooting death of 24-year-old Shane Takeuchi.

According to police, witnesses saw Naleimaile and Takeuchi practicing wrestling moves outside a Lumihoahu Street home before the shooting. Police said Naleimaile fled on a motorcycle following the shooting but was arrested Tuesday in Waikiki.

Naleimaile also faces charges stemming from a shooting near the Waipio Neighborhood Park on Nov. 14, police said.

At least five shots were fired, and no one was hit, according to police. Naleimaile is charged with attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder and firearm violations.

Police said Naleimaile fired at a group of men on Nanilihilihi Place with whom he and his friends had fought there the night before.

Naleimaile was also arrested on a contempt warrant. He remains in custody in lieu of $250,500 bail.
