Ticket Plus locations statewide put 13,000 tickets on sale today for the Pro Bowl that will be played on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Aloha Stadium.

This marks the first time local fans can buy tickets at locations other than the Aloha Stadium box office, something the National Football League believes will make the annual all-star game more attractive.

Fans can buy tickets at any of the 42 statewide Ticket Plus locations, including Aloha Stadium. They can also buy them by telephone at (808) 526-4400 or (877) 750-4400 and online at www.TicketPlusHawaii.com.

"When we introduced our new ticket plan for the Pro Bowl in August, one of the main reasons for the change was to improve fan access to tickets," NFL senior vice president of special events Jim Steeg said. "Our partnership with Ticket Plus will allow us to better serve the loyal NFL fans in Hawaii and the many thousands of visitors from the mainland."

Ticket Plus chief executive officer Manny Sanchez said at yesterday's press conference that the 13,000 seats were located in all four price ranges. Fans can spend $200 to sit in the loge sideline and end zone areas, $75 for seats in the makai and mauka orange and blue sections, $50 makai and mauka red and yellow sidelines, and $20 for all seats in the north and south end zones.

"Making tickets easy to purchase for every customer is our primary goal," Sanchez said. "Football fans can rest assured, no matter where they live, that purchasing a ticket for the Pro Bowl will be as easy as logging on to TicketPlusHawaii.com or stopping by a Foodland on their way home from work."

There are 2,500 tickets available for the $200 club seats located in the loge level around the stadium. Steeg said fans purchasing those seats would receive special parking and gate entrances with a lei greeting, host/hostess service at their seats, enhanced food and merchandise, including bobblehead dolls, $25 in Pro Bowl bucks (which are redeemable at concession stands), commemorative seat cushion, collectible relic football card, discounts on official NFL Pro Bowl tailgate party tickets and free tickets to the NFL Experience in Waikiki.

"We're also committed to making the Pro Bowl the best all-star game there is," Steeg said. "And by offering 21,000 seats at $20 a ticket, we know our game is the most affordable of any of the other major all-star games."

The Pro Bowl was moved to Saturday for the first time in 23 years here to accommodate the shift of the Super Bowl to Feb. 3. Kickoff for the Pro Bowl is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and will be shown nationally on ABC-TV.
