Spotlight shines
on holiday pies

"The Electric Kitchen" airing in the second half of November features guest cook Marsha Magnussen and "Pies for the Holidays."

"Electric Kitchen" airs at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, 8:30 p.m. Monday, 5 p.m. Tuesday and 6 p.m. Thursday on Oceanic Cable Channel 16.

Cherry-Cranberry Pie

Dough for double crust pie
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Dash of salt

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a 9-inch pie plate with half of dough.

Combine pie filling and cranberries. Combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt; add to fruit mixture; mix well. Pour into pie shell. Cover with remaining crust, full or latticework. Bake 10 minutes; lower oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking 30 to 35 more minutes. Serves 8.
