CARATS AND KARATS
A sterling silver bracelet available at Carats and
Karats can be engraved in memory of those
lost on Sept. 11.

Remembrance jewelry

In remembrance of lives lost Sept. 11, Carats and Karats is offering patriotic charms in sterling silver and 14K, as well as a 6mm cuff-style sterling silver bracelet featuring an engraving of the American flag and the date September 11, 2001.

The bracelet can also be engraved with the name of a lost loved one at no additional cost.

Carats and Karats owner Brenda Reichel, who lost two friends in the flights that hit the Pentagon and went down in Pittsburgh, said the bracelets are reminiscent of Vietnam War MIA/POW bracelets that her dad wore during the conflict.

"My father went to Vietnam twice and at his military retirement ceremony he was able to present to his friend a POW the bracelet that he wore for him. I wanted to do something so that we would not forget the event that occurred or the lives that were lost."

The cost of the charms ranges from $20.25 to $119, the bracelet is $30. Reichel will donate $5 from every purchase to the American Red Cross.

Carats and Karats is at 1254 S. King St. Call 593-8122.
