NEW JOBS

>> Hawaii Health Systems Corp. has named Vincent H.S. Lee as chief executive officer at Leahi Hospital and regional CEO for the company's Oahu region. As regional CEO, Lee will also be responsible for oversight of HHSC's long-term care facility on Oahu. Lee previously worked at St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii as vice president of government and community relations.

>> Jocelyn Lee has joined Roberts Hawaii Inc. as advertising manager. She will be responsible for media evaluation, planning and buying, print production, graphics development and promotional advertising projects for all Roberts Hawaii statewide subsidiaries. Lee previously served as director of advertising and program manager at Guest Informant Television before joining Roberts Hawaii.

PROMOTIONS

>> Robert "Mick" Minicola has been named general manager at the Ohana Maui Islander Hotel. He was also elected to the Lahaina Town Action Committee. Minicola, a 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has been with Ohana and its parent company Outrigger Hotels and Resorts since 1988.

>> Wilcox W.K. Choy and Gary Nakata have been promoted by Grant Thornton LLP. Choy now heads the assurance department as assurance partner. He joined Grant Thornton in 1984. Nakata was named tax manager. He previously served as senior associate in the tax department.

>> Beverly C. Ament has been named vice president and surety manager at Island Insurance. Ament, who has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, previously served as assistant vice president and surety bond manager at the company.

>> Belt Collins Hawaii Ltd. has promoted Lesley A. Matsumoto to vice president and director at the company. She will be responsible for oversight of planning and operations of Belt Collins Hawaii's environmental consulting group.

>> First Hawaiian Bank recently announced the following promotions: Jeffrey S. Ventura, manager, Ward Branch; Wayne K. Suehiro, vice president and business banking officer, Pearlridge Branch; Millicent A. Cruz, assistant vice president and retail systems manager, retail systems department; John H. Flanigan, assistant vice president, cash management services department; Mitchell M. Kaaialii, manager, Eaton Square Branch; and Alethea A. Seto, service manager, main banking center. In addition, David J. Simon and Kimberlee S. Loque have joined the bank. Simon will serve as product manager in the retail credit products department. Loque was named service manager at the bank's Kihei Branch.

>> Summit Lending of Hawaii has promoted Victor Brock to secondary marketing manager. He will determine Summit's interest rates for various products and maintain relationships with investors. With 10 years in the industry, Brock was previously employed as an account executive at New America Financial Inc., predecessor of Summit Lending. In addition, Jerridee Halliwell has been promoted to loan officer in Summit's retail sales division. She was previously Summit's loan closing manager.

ON THE BOARD

>> Kahala Senior Living Community Inc. has named Charles O. Swanson as chairman of the company's volunteer board of directors. In addition, Joyce Timpson was named vice chair. Other directors include Cliff Cisco, Relda Loomis, John Magee, Nathaniel Potter, Hatsune Sekimura and Laura Thompson.

RECOGNITION

>> Hawaii Medical Association has presented state Sen. David M. Matsuura (D-Hilo) its 2001 Outstanding Legislator Award. Matsuura is chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.
