Genevieve Elizabeth Dods, 88, of Honolulu, died Saturday in Aloha Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons Chester A. Roger Fafard, also known as J. Roger Fafard, 76, of Honolulu, a retired supervisor for the Federal Aviation Administration, died Oct. 15 at home. He was born in Fair Haven, Mass. He is survived by sons Leighton H., Robert C. and Raymond R., and James E.K. MacLoves; daughters Jeanette Linville and Joyce Nielsen; brothers J. Donat and J. Hank; sisters Donalda Robitaille, Sister Louise and Sister Mary Rose; 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.

Emmanuel "John" Garcia, 34, of Waipahu, died Friday. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Michele, son Seth, daughter Kylie, parents Ernesto and Rosita, brother Ernie, sisters Charlene Garcia-Paguio and Jessica Cortez, and grandparents Elena Asuncion and Feliza. Alfonso Hawaii Han, also known as "Fonso" and "Sonny," 65, of Honaunau, Kona, a former painter in Los Angeles, died Monday in Kona Community Hospital. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was born in Pahoa, Puna, Hawaii. He is survived by sons Curtis and Derek; daughter Eva; and sisters Margaret Cagampang, Victoria Mamac, Virginia Hind and Mercedes "Honey" Fox. Tsurue Hirano, 84, of Kapaau, Hawaii, a self-employed seamstress, died Thursday at home. She was born in Papaikou. William Sui Chong Kam, 81, of Honolulu, a retired employee for the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, died Saturday in Hale Pulama Mau. He was born in Honolulu.
