Maui Invitational
tickets on sale

Tickets for the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational men's college basketball tournament went on sale today at four locations on Maui.

The 18th annual tourney, scheduled for Nov. 19-21 at the Lahaina Civic Center, features defending national champion Duke, along with past national champions Kansas and UCLA. Also in the field are Ball State, Houston, Seton Hall, South Carolina and Chaminade.

Organizers yesterday confirmed that Virginia will be part of next year's field. It will mark the 20th anniversary of Chaminade's upset of the then-No. 1 Cavaliers.

Tickets range from $40 to $60 and are available on Maui at: Anthony's Coffee, Maui Tacos in Kihei and Napili, and the Hula Bowl Maui office in the Maui Mall.

Sugiura is new coach at Hawaii Baptist Academy

Keith Sugiura has been named the boys varsity basketball coach at Hawaii Baptist Academy.

Sugiura, who replaces Glen Goya, is an alumnus of HBA, and he has coached volleyball and basketball at the school during the past six years.

Jones, Cavanaugh to speak at Na Koa

Hawaii football coach June Jones and offensive line coach Mike Cavanaugh will be the guest speakers at the Na Koa Football club's weekly luncheon meeting.

The luncheon is scheduled for Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center. The cost for lunch is $10 for Na Koa members and $15 for non-members.
