[COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL]

Wahine line up match
with Div. II No. 1 HPU

Hawaii also makes a few
other changes to its schedule

The Hawaii volleyball team didn't practice yesterday, but Hawaii coaches were busy making changes -- to the schedule that is.

Nittaidai University of Japan will not come to Hawaii for matches originally scheduled Oct. 27 and 30 against Boise State and Hawaii. Hawaii will play Division II powerhouse Hawaii Pacific instead. The top-ranked Sea Warriors recently lost a five-game match to Hawaii-Hilo and had their 42-match win streak broken. Match time will be 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center. The match will count toward both teams' records.

A match Hawaii scheduled for Nov. 20 against Cal State Sacramento has also been canceled. The match was sandwiched between the Western Athletic Confernce tournament from Nov. 15-18 and the Bankers Classic the following weekend.

The Wahine will also face a different opponent at the Bankers Classic from Nov. 23-24. Former conference foe Utah replaces USC, which has withdrawn from the tournament. The Trojans are playing Pac-10 matches against Oregon and Oregon State that were originally scheduled during the week of the terrorist attacks. Pacific and Fairfield are the other teams in the tournament.
