Veronika Hoffman, 9, was among the many who turned
out yesterday to help tie over 6,000 ribbons along the
fence on Makakilo Drive across from the Kapolei Shopping
Center. The Kapolei Park Users Coalition organized the
event to honor the victims and families affected by the
September 11th terrorist attacks.



POWWOW OF PRIDE

Mike Gates of the Big Island, holding his 5-month-old
son Gabriel, took part in dancing at the American Indian
Powwow Association's 27th Annual Intertribal Powwow
at Thomas Square yesterday. Mike, a Seneca Nation tribe
member, said Gabriel is the "next generation of dancers."
