NEW JOBS

>> Ken Inthasone has been named food and beverage manager at The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel. Inthasone, a 20-year veteran of the food and beverage industry, was most recently manager of the Tropical Surf Restaurant in the Hawaiian Waikiki Beach Hotel.

>> Alani Apio has been named director of civic affairs and community building at Communications-Pacific Inc. He is the former sole proprietor of Kuaihelani Productions.

>> Kathleen T. Kano has been named senior vice president of the commercial lines-client services division at Atlas Insurance Agency Inc. Kano will be responsible for management and oversight of the division. A 22-year veteran of the insurance agency, Kano joins Atlas Insurance from Hartford Insurance Company Ltd.

>> Ruth's Chris Steak House has named Alex Kutscherenko as its first regional group sales manager. She will be responsible for developing groups, conventions and special events at Ruth's Chris locations on Oahu and Maui. Kutscherenko formerly served as membership/ meetings, conventions and incentives services coordinator at the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.

>> Wallace F. Chong III has joined the dental practice of Wallace F. Chong Inc. as a general practice associate. Chong III will work with his father and sister at the Hilo practice.

PROMOTIONS

>> T. Mark McCamley, Drew G. Waddell, Constance G. Oshiro and Kimberly K. Greenly have been promoted to new positions at First Hawaiian Bank. McCamley has been named vice president of Bishop Street Capital Management, he joined First Hawaiian in 1997. Waddell will serve as assistant vice president of the Commercial Card Department. Constance G. Oshiro was named real estate officer in the Trust Real Estate Services Department at First Hawaiian, she has 15 years of real estate experience. Greenly, who joined First Hawaiian in 1997, was named product management analyst officer in the Deposit Products Department.

>> James Avis has been named director of corporate development at Clear Channel Hawaii. He will be responsible for development of multimedia marketing campaigns for the company's seven local radio stations. Avis, who has over 14 years of sales and marketing experience, joined Clear Channel in 1998.

ON THE BOARD

>> Karren Barozzi was named president of the American Society of Interior Designers Hawaii Chapter for 2001-02. She runs Barozzi Design Inc. Other officers are: Michelle Weeks, president-elect; Tiare Cowan-Broad, secretary; Betty Lee, treasurer; and Joett Colgan, past president. In addition, the following ASID members were named to the society's board of directors: Sandra Tengan, Suzanne Doty, Marjorie Okey, Bruce Lagareta, Terah Richardson and Felix Weile.

>> Lowell L. Kalapa was named president of the board at Hale Kipa Inc. Other newly elected officers are: Dale Vermeer, first vice president; and Paul A. Schraff, second vice president. In addition, the following individuals were named as new board members: Georgette Deemer, Stacy Evensen, Lynn Fallin and David A.K. Matlin.

>> Glenn Kimura was named president of the board at Palama Settlement. Other officers for 2001-02 are: Paul D. Yee, first vice president; Richard K.C. Lau, second vice president/treasurer; Mary Ann Chang, third vice president; and James Westlake, secretary. Also named to the board of trustees are: Suzanne Chun-Oakland, Darwin L.D. Ching, Lori Hiramatsu, Wesley B. Hiyane, Lynn Kinney and Ted Lubong.
