>> Myles A. Murakami has been named president at Atlas Insurance Agency Inc. A 25-year veteran of the insurance industry, Murakami joins Atlas after serving as a senior vice president at Marsh USA.

>> United Laundry Services has named Donald Edmundson as the company's chief operating officer. A 13-year veteran of the laundry industry, he joins ULS after serving as vice president and chief operating officer at Boewe Passat USA.

>> The King Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center has named Paris Chai as its new executive director. She joins the center after serving as an attorney and lobbyist for Verizon Inc.

>> The Maryl Group has named John Moore as project engineer and onsite owner's representative for projects at The Shops and The Villages at Mauna Lani. He previously served as project manager at Konawaena Elementary School for Western Engineering Ltd. and has more than 35 years of construction engineering and management experience.

>> KC Collins has joined Murata Creative as director of marketing. She was most recently marketing and communications manager for HTH Corp. and was editor of Fore 'n Aft magazine for seven years.

>> Steve Pherigo has been named management executive at Hawaiiana Management Company Ltd. He previously served as community association manager at Metropolitan Management.

>> Andrea Magli-Grant has been named account director at the Orchid at Mauna Lani Hotel. She will be responsible for Washington, D.C., area association group sales market and the corporate and incentive market for the northeast and southeast regions of the United States. Magli-Grant most recently served as senior sales manager at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.

PROMOTIONS

>> Stephen Schwenk has been named manager at the Sheraton Waikiki location of McInerny's. Schwenk, who joined McInerny's in 1982, is also manager of two McInerny shops in the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

ON THE BOARD

>> Dennis Enomoto has been named to the Honolulu Liquor Commission. His appointment expires at the end of 2005. Enomoto is vice president of PY Inc. and has been active in the real estate industry for more than 25 years.

>> The Mortgage Bankers Association of Hawaii has named Donald Lau president for the 2001-02 term. Other new officers and directors are: Jon Whittington, vice president; Jasen Takei, treasurer; Cathy Brogan, secretary; Gayle Ishima, director; Marlene Lum, director; Rolann Regidor, director; and Tom Ohashi, immediate past president. They were installed during the MBAH annual conference Sept. 13.
